RESPECT THEIR GAME
Participate
BEHIND THE SCENES OF RTG'S VERY FIRST STORY FEATURING COMPETITIVE SWIMMER, MILA.

This project is built through collaboration with women athletes across disciplines and levels. Participation is voluntary, consent-driven, and centered on accurate, respectful representation.
Who This Is For
Participation is open to women athletes working at any level—professional, collegiate, amateur, or independent—across all sports and disciplines. Selection is not based on visibility, rankings, or accolades, but on commitment to sport and the diversity of experiences represented in the series.
You do not need to be publicly known to participate.
What Participation Involves
Participation typically includes:
- A portrait session photographed against a white canvas backdrop
- A combination of full portraits and detail studies (hands, footwear, scars, tattoos, or other identifiers, if the athlete chooses)
- A short, conversational interview focused on lived experience rather than performance metrics
Most sessions last between 60–90 minutes. Shoots are paced deliberately and collaboratively.
Representation & Agency
This project prioritizes accuracy and consent.
- Athletes are collaborators in how they are represented
- Quotes may be reviewed prior to publication
- Boundaries around what is photographed or shared are respected
- Participation can be anonymous if requested
No athlete is asked to perform, reenact, or present themselves in a way that feels inauthentic or uncomfortable.
Use of Images & Words
The work is editorial and artistic in nature, not commercial advertising.
Images and quotes may appear on the project website, social platforms, exhibitions, and related editorial contexts connected to the project. They are not licensed for third-party commercial use without additional consent.
Athletes may use their images for personal promotion and portfolios with credit.
Compensation
At this time, participation is unpaid. Athletes are never asked to pay to take part.
Participants receive:
- Edited images for personal use
- Inclusion in the ongoing series
- Credit unless anonymity is requested
Any future changes to use or compensation will be discussed transparently and in advance.
Withdrawing or Rescheduling
Participation may be withdrawn prior to publication. Rescheduling is always accommodated when possible. Clear communication is valued on both sides.
A simple participation agreement is provided before any work begins, outlining consent and usage in plain language.
Expressing Interest
Athletes interested in participating are invited to submit a brief expression of interest using the form below.
Submitting interest does not guarantee selection. All inquiries are reviewed with care, and responses are provided when possible.
Closing Note
This project values seriousness, trust, and time. It is built slowly and deliberately, through collaboration rather than extraction.
Questions are always welcome.
